RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

6/83 - 3/92: Research Associate, UCLA Tokamak Fusion Laboratory, UCLA
Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering. Performed
experimental plasma physics research which led to a doctoral degree in
Physics from the UCLA Physics Department, under the joint supervision of Dr.
Robert J. Taylor (Lab Director) and Prof. George Morales (UCLA Physics).
Duties included: plasma diagnostics operation and management; tokamak
operation (occasionally solo); Ion Cyclotron Range of Frequencies (ICRF)
Heating, Lower Hybrid Range of Frequencies (LHRF) Heating, Electron
Cyclotron Heating (ECH), and RF Current Drive experiments; pioneering
dissertation research in angular fast neutral flux measurements in tokamak,
RF-produced and ECH-produced plasmas. Performed magnetic confinement fusion
energy research on the Microtor, Macrotor and CCT Tokamaks. Designed, built,
tested and operated a wide variety of diagnostic devices including:
microwave scattering (off of ion-Bernstein-Wave-produced plasma density
fluctuations), interferometry and radiometry; visible light and UV light
detector arrays (to measure plasma position and density profiles); fast
neutral spectrometer; Doppler spectrometry (to measure ion temperature);
Rogowski coil current and loop voltage measurement; Langmuir, B-dot,
electron and ion energy analyzer probes.
4/92 – 11/95 – Poker Tournament Director, Huntington Park Casino, H.P. CA.

6/95 - 7/02: Research Engineer/Chief Experimentalist, UCLA Low Temperature
Plasma Technology Laboratory (LTPTL), UCLA Dept. of Elec. Engineering.
Experimental plasma physics and engineering research with Prof. Francis F.
Chen, specializing in the physics and engineering of low temperature
plasmas, particular as applied to plasma processing. Designed, built and
operated RF produced plasmas including Inductively Coupled Plasmas (ICPs),
Magnetically Enhanced ICPs, and Helicon plasmas, at a wide variety of plasma
density (109-1014 cm-3) and electron temperatures (0.2 - 20 eV). Performed
scientific (NSF sponsored) and industrial (SEMATECH, Applied Materials, PMT,
and PlasmaTherm sponsored) contract research leading to numerous
publications. Participated in the training of several graduate students, and
supervised laboratory personnel. Performed collaborative research with Prof.
Selim Senkan's group at the UCLA Department of Chemical Engineering and with
Prof. George Tynan’s group at the University of California, San Diego, CA.

The Benefits of a Tutor

Every tutor at GPAScore.com knows that when a student is having difficulty in class, the teacher or professor never stops presenting material long enough for the student to catch-up or even understand fully how all the material presented correlates by the time tests, midterms or final exams come around.

Students facing these circumstances need a tutor to answer the immediate questions, clarify the confusion and show them strategies to maximizie study habits, be competitive, and take tests successfully.

Tutors at GPAScore.com are prepared to help today. Find the one that's right for you.
